I like making these sweaters. Each are one of. I don’t use a pattern. I simply let the materials I have on hand tell me how big and what direction to go.
This swingy flouncy cardigan style or sweater jumper combines recycling with hand knit and crochet. The main body of the piece is comprised of many different bits from recycled sweaters. There is cashmere, cotton, wool and acrylic in content. Also some embroidery.
The hem including the sleeve hems are hand knit. The bottom hem has transitions in color to work the patchwork concept into the piece further. The front closure bands are also hand knit with the finishing in crochet.
The buttons are vintage. Sleeves are 3/4. Some of the yarn I used is vintage Fantacia from my yarn shop I closed in 80’s. A fabulous boucle in vibrant blue, aqua and violet tones. (See the sleeve hems). There is a vintage denim cotton yarn in the hem as well from the 80’s. (Sure wish I could get more of that one!)
Button down front to wear open or closed. Layer it over a cami, T or turtleneck.
Lots of texture and color.
Colors are primarily blue with pink and multi.
Suggest dry cleaning.
